Lori Davidson

Trumpet, Cornet, & Flugelhorn Teacher

Born and raised in Peterborough, Lori has been playing trumpet/flugelhorn/cornet/baritone for more than 40 years. Lori attended Queen’s University and North Texas State University where she studied Music Education and Jazz Performance. While living in Texas, she travelled extensively with the NTSU Marching band throughout the southern United States. 

 

Over the years, Lori has performed with a variety of ensembles including The Kawartha Jazz Ensemble, Just Us Brass, Funk It Up, The Commodores Orchestra, Salvation Army Band, Paul Minor Big Band, Peterborough Concert Band, Clarington Concert Band, Bobby Kinsmen Orchestra, Peterborough Wind Symphony, Peterborough Symphony Orchestra as well as many musical theatre Groups in the area.

 

Career highlights include playing with Count Basie and his Orchestra, recording/producing Kawartha Jazz Ensemble’s CD “Duke’n It Out”, being the first female horn player to play with The Bobby Kinsmen Orchestra, playing in Canada’s oldest big band The Commodores Orchestra, as well playing in NTSU’s massive Green Brigade Marching Band.

 

Lori is eager to share her knowledge and experience to anyone interested in learning more about how to play the trumpet, cornet or flugelhorn.
